Newcomer is leveling up.

We’re looking for an expert networker who wants to be an external face of our community, find great people to attend our summits, and foster relationships with the top founders and investors in tech.

Newcomer hosts the most elite founder-investor gatherings in San Francisco including the Cerebral Valley AI Summit, Breaking the Bank, and Deus Ex Medicina.

These exclusive, invite-only gatherings draw well-known startup CEOs, top partners at major venture firms, and reporters from leading outlets. They’re intentionally intimate — 100–400 people. We’re hosting four similar summits in 2026, plus dinners and smaller meet-ups.

Technology journalist Eric Newcomer founded Newcomer as an independent newsletter in 2020. Today, between full-time employees and regular contractors we’re a team of seven and counting.

We generated more than $2 million in revenue in 2024 and are about to do more than $3 million in 2025. Though we’re small, we’ve built a respected and sought-out startup industry media company that punches above its weight.

Our newsletter is widely read among top venture capitalists and startup founders, and our insider AI events are constantly oversubscribed and buzzy.

So, we’re expanding our team and adding new conferences.

The Community Lead will support our editorial and business teams with summit planning and strategy, invitations and audience curation, new programs for newsletter subscribers, and more.

At the summits themselves, you’ll be part of the team that makes everything go. The details and feel need to be right. It’s difficult to balance authenticity and polish, so sharp instincts are key.
